1885 – Dolly, Tommie & Brownie

$10.00$40.00

“Dolly, Tommy & Brownie” is an illustration of three cats, all owned by the artist, Harrison Weir, and their picture and the accompanying anecdote are a rare insight into the personal life of the artist and his relationship with his family’s cats. The image is taken from “Animal Stories, Old and New, in Pictures and Prose”, totally written and compiled by Harrison Weir and of course, fully illustrated by him. It was published in 1885 by Sampson Low, Marston, Searle & Rivington. Many of the drawings are published in Sepia toning, but some of the illustrations are in full colour. This delightful image of the cats taking turns to dip their paws into the milk jar, is currently available in A4, A3 and A2 sizing options. An ideal and rare gift for the cat lover!
