1878 – A wonderful Sparrow

“A wonderful Sparrow – by Harrison Weir” is a full page book plate image, taken from the “Chatterbox Album of Animals”, published by W.W.Gardner, circa 1878. The short anecdote accompanying the illustration, reads as follows: “This wonderful Sparrow was so tame that he amused all who saw him. When the meals were brought in, he would fly on the table and help himself to what he thought best. Standing on the top of a loaf, he would reach his head over to peck a hole in the crummy part, which would sometimes be large enough to bury himself in before he left it.”

Prints currently available in A4, A3 and A2 sizing options.
