1878 – Wally’s Foundling (Col.)

“Wally’s Foundling – by Harrison Weir” is a full page book plate image, taken from the “Chatterbox Album of Animals”, published by W.W.Gardner, circa 1878. In this case, the image here is in colour, and is from the Frontispiece, sitting opposite the Title Page. The short anecdote accompanying the black and white illustration of this drawing is found on Page 222, and reads as follows: “This is a picture of ‘Wally’ and his foundling. Wally (short for Wallace) was not generally a friend to cats, but one day he found a poor little pussy lost in the snow, and carried her home, and made a great pet of her ever after. That is why she is called ‘Wally’s Foundling’.”

Prints currently available in A4, A3 and A2 sizing options.
