“Pussy Asleep – by Harrison Weir” is a full page book plate image, taken from the “Chatterbox Album of Animals”, published by W.W.Gardner, circa 1878. The short anecdote accompanying the illustration, takes the form of a poem and reads as follows:

“Two rounds eyes and a velvet chin, A grey little nose, and a sleek, grey skin, Striped in jet:

Furry cocked ears, and a sharp tooth and nail, Pattering, meddlesome paws, and a tail, – That’s my pet!”

(Poem possibly by Harrison Weir, describing a kitten that looked like his old favourite, a Blue Tabby).Prints currently available in A4, A3 and A2 sizing options.
