$7.00$28.00

“The Pouter and the Horse – by Harrison Weir” is a full page book plate, taken from the “Chatterbox Album of Animals”, published by W.W.Gardner, circa 1878. The accompanying anecdote reads: “Some pigeons were feeding on the grain that fell from a horse’s nose-bag. Every time the horse tossed his head to reach his food, he sprinkled some on the ground. Presently, as his appetite became more satisfied, he ceased to do so. Whereupon a pigeon few up and pecked at the horse’s head, which made him jerk it up, and so more grain was spilt. This was repeated until the pigeons had all had as much grain as they wished.”

Prints currently available in A4, A3 and A2 sizing options.
