1878 – Left Alone

This image of a solitary cat looking longingly out of a window, is taken from the “Chatterbox Album of Animals”,  published by W.W.Gardner, circa 1878. The story line below the caption reads: ” The London season is over, the people of the house have gone, and poor puss is left behind in an empty house. How pitifully she looks out of the window, begging to be let out! Let us hope that some one will soon come to set her free, or poor puss will be starved to death.” A beguiling and wistful image, and a timely reminder of not to forget our pets during the holiday season. Now available in A4, A3 and A2 sizing options.
