1878 – The Kind Horse

“The Kind Horse” is a full page book plate from “The Chatterbox Album of Animals” published in 1878 by W.W.Gardner. Although not signed in plate, the caption clearly states: “The Kind Horse By Harrison Weir’. A very brief anecdote explains that the fowl-house had been pulled down, so the cocks and hens decided to roost on the horses back..and he appeared to be quite pleased to enjoy their company.
