1878 – Good for Evil

“Good for Evil  – by Harrison Weir” is a full page book plate image, taken from the “Chatterbox Album of Animals”, published by W.W.Gardner, circa 1878. The short anecdote accompanying the illustration, reads as follows:  “A young man in Paris, intended to drown his dog in the River Seine. He hired a boat, and after rowing to the middle of the stream he threw the dog into the water. The dog tried to climb into the boat, but his hard-hearted master pushed him back, and in doing so he fell into the water himself, and would certainly have been drowned if the good old dog had not saved him.”

Prints currently available in A4, A3 and A2 sizing options.
