“The Discontented Squirrel – by Harrison Weir” is a full page book plate image, taken from the “Chatterbox Album of Animals”, published by W.W.Gardner, circa 1878. The short anecdote accompanying the illustration, reads as follows: “A naughty discontented squirrel left his home and set out on his travels. He got very tired, and at last a falcon flew away with him. Then the squirrel began to wish he had never left his home. While he was thinking how foolish he had been, and eagle came along and struck the falcon, which then dropped the squirrel. He fell into a tree, the very tree which held his nest. The squirrel never cared to roam again.”
