1878 – Blackbird and Cat

“Blackbird and Cat – by Harrison Weir” is a full page book plate image, taken from the “Chatterbox Album of Animals”, published by W.W.Gardner, circa 1878. The short anecdote accompanying the illustration, reads as follows: “This brave Blackbird flew at a cat which was trying to get to his nest, and drove her away. This happened twice, and the cat became so frightened at the attacks made upon her that she gave up trying to get the little ones.”
