1872 – The Sly Old Fox

“The Sly Old Fox – by Harrison Weir” is a full page book plate image, taken from the “Chatterbox Album of Animals”, published by W.W.Gardner, circa 1878. The short anecdote accompanying the illustration, simply reads: “This sly old Fox is peeping out of his hole to see if any one is about. If he sees no one, he will run straight across the country to a wood at some distance, where he means to feed. This is the cunning of the animal, always to feed far from home, sometimes several miles away, so that his home may not be found when his misdeeds are discovered.”

Prints currently available in A4, A3 and A2 sizing options.
