1865 – Prize Birds at the Birmingham Poultry Show

$7.00$28.00

This stunning full page image is taken from the December 16th, 1865 issue of “The Illustrated London News” and is an illustrative report on the Prize Birds, exhibited at the Birmingham Poultry Show of that year. The amazing detail of the exhibits, be they Pigeons, Geese, Cocks and Ducks, just goes to further prove the exemplary knowledge of all the breeds, by the artist. He give such clear indications of the animals qualities, that the reader is virtually ‘transported’ to the show, as if they had been there. A truly fine example of the art of Harrison Weir as a reporter and fancier of birds in all forms. Available in A4, A3 and A2 sizing options. Given the detail in this piece, we may also look at an A1 edition in the near future.
