1847 – Short Horn Bull FP

$7.00$28.00

This amazing piece is a full front page illustration for the July 24th issue of “The Pictorial Times”. The print comprises the entire full page (picture, header and text). What is particularly interesting apart from the incredible detail, is that Harrison Weir was only 23 years old at the time of this piece, and also working for “The Illustrated London News”, where some of his animals and fashion drawings had made the pages of that newspaper, but not as front page illustrations. This dramatic and detailed study is sure to have caught the attention of his other employer, as within 3 months of this, a drawing of “Aurochs”, donated to the Zoological Society by the Czar of Russia, were also drawn by Weir and made the front page of “The Illustrated London News”! With this piece, Harrison is almost throwing down a gauntlet to the competition….do something better than this!  Currently available in A4, A3 and a grand A2 sizing option. We are investigating the possibility of an A1 option for the future.
